Mimi Camp

Somehow school is starting in two weeks. And that means my daughter teachers are going back to mandatory whatevers this coming week.  And that means that my grandchildren will be coming here.

Still Reaping what we Sow.
When I counted heads and realized five out of the seven participants under high school age will be here during the day for five days, I surrendered, invited the two remaining grade school grands and decided it was Mimi Camp.

Unfortunately they are mature young men (mostly) and a girl and they are not longer pacified with cute little crafts and themed snacks.  And Mimi is gets tired quickly when they run wild.  I quickly planned some outings to tire them out.

Monday we will go park to park in my town and they can run, play sports, whatever, while I watch them from my lawn chair.

Tuesday we are going to the amusement park. Each child can pick one thing (that makes 7 things) to do and I wrote that we would go home when Mimi gets tired.

Wednesday we will travel 45 minutes to a children's museum where I will renew my grandparents pass allowing myself and unlimited legal grandchildren a year's admission to climbing walls, engineering activities, pinball machines and all kinds of stuff to tire them out.

Thursday is my church day and I imagine grampa will allow unlimited screen time.

And Friday we are driving them up to Lake Erie for a picnic on the beach (no swimming) and a trip to a diner for gigantic milk shakes.

I am sure I will return with plenty of pictures but this is to advise you of my absence next week. I will be TIRED.

  4. I hope the weather holds for your picnic on the lake. It's an exhausting schedule! But a fun one.

  5. Good sounding plans...and I'm sure the kids will enjoy themselves and be so glad that they're still not back to school. I always looked forward to the new school year, but most kids somehow don't.

  6. Yes, you will be tired, Miss Merry. But I admire your courage. And I love that the cousins are spending so much time with each other. We did that growing up and the memories are wonderful. Our kids didn't get that as we we moved away after marrying, so our kids didn't see their cousins except for some summers and Christmases. But you should be careful... your health is important to them too.

  7. I can't imagine entertaining that quantity. Four granddaughters does Dan and me in. I had granddaughter #1 most of today because she opted out of church and their church picnic. I kept her occupied and it went well. Granddaughter #2 comes tomorrow morning but for not as long. She spends a lot of time here by choice and has lots to tell us - some believable and some with some embellishments that stretch the truth.

  12. Bless YOU! Your children should nominate you for sainthood and best Grandma of the year. I don't know how you do it. I want to be your grandchild. :-) Fun times abound.
    Blessings,

  15. What great memories you are building for with your mini camps. But it sure does look tiring. I can't believe we were all young enough to enjoy that kind of activity for so many days in a row.

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit! I love your comments and suggestions and read them all. Due to spam, I will now have to approve all comments. Sometimes it takes me a hot minute to authorize comments due to grandchildren commitments. I apologize but I can't let those scammers get the upper hand!
