I was thinking about the old March rhyme this morning. My March certainly came in like a roaring lion - pushing me down on my kitchen floor and twisty breaking my arm! Here is a photo from my first ever trip to the Emergency Room (with me as the patient).
And here is what my miracle surgeon did to put it back together. He was so young and so nice. I was randomly assigned to him, but during the week between the break and the surgery I received more messages to try to go with him. Didn't he piece me back together nicely!
I do get very frustrated about what I can do and what I can't do. I have to admit that every day the pain is less and I do get a teeny tiny bit more of movement.
I look at what I could be doing, the piles of genealogy papers, closets of crafts, a wall of books - but it has been a blessing to just sit in my chair and heal.
I hope everyone is doing well, not too bored and able to appreciate our health and safety. My March will go out as a lamb, very quiet without any grandchildren or visitors or meetings or friends. But grateful for what we do have.
Welcome to my little gray house with the picket fence. Thank you for visiting!

Day 15
My quarantine started on March 6, 2020. That day I fell in my kitchen while doing dishes. After a week in a chair of pillows with a splint, I had 3 hours of surgery which left me with a long plate and several screws in my left upper arm and a hospital stay. I may have a low pain tolerance, but this experience has not been fun.
I am typing this with one finger. Thank goodness my husband has turned into a terrific uncertified nursing assistant.
I enjoy reading blogs on my phone. easier to manage.

Well I took my first ambulance ride
A dislocated spiral fracture happens when a long bone is torn in half by a twisting force or impact. The injury involves the long bone of the arm, the humerus.
Spiral fractures are usually serious injuries and carry the risk of complications.

It's February, So Let's Wrap Up Christmas
My original plan was to post all my cute Whoville decorations BEFORE Christmas, but that did not happen. I did get them all done before Christmas, the grandkids enjoyed them all, and I already have a theme in my mind for next year.
Let's start with the ten most adorable grandchildren in America. The only decoration on this wall is the "gumdrops" on the valances.
And let me share how much fun the Christmas bulb light up necklaces were! And how popular the saran wrapped candy ball was with the younger crowd!
Okay, well all the windows ended up with these garlands. I strung my Christmas cards underneath.
And I had enough to stretch across the bottom of my bookcase where I display all the "grandkids with santa" photos from each year.
I don't think I ever got a good picture of the tree. Can you see the hook I made on top to make it a "Grinch" tree?
I did manage to take my tree down by mid-January and put all my Christmas decorations away by last week. My husband disagrees with this statement as my village is still up. I am trying to convince him it is a "winter" village.
