Snow Day!

Snow.  We got 7" inches overnight and it was still snowing this morning. Mr Merry waited until 11 am to start up his snow blower. He will be happily plowing and blowing driveways and sidewalks for his chosen few.

He actually loves to be outside in freezing temperatures gently pushing his self-propelled snow blower.  His chosen few are anyone who is retired and single mothers (unless they have teenagers home from school) and people who had to leave early for work, do not have children over 12 years of age, and don't have political signs he disagrees with.

He refuses any payment and is must mortified if he gets a thank you note with, heaven forbid, a gift card.

I only take photos through dirty windows or a crack in the door. This photo means nothing if you don't know how many inches are under the bush, lol.

And I realized I forgot this photo on my last miscellaneous post.  My middle son and daughter-in-law bought a house near me this fall. And they have adopted a new family member.

Winnie is the most spoiled cat in the world and knew what she was doing when she charmed them at the shelter.  She has works of art hung on the wall at her height by her food station so that she can enjoy them at dinner.

Yes, 20 photos of my grandcat cuddling in blankets.

  1. The snow looks just awesome and I enjoyed reading about Mr. Merry and his blower :^) I also enjoyed reading about Winnie, that wall of miniature artworks above her dishes is too much--in a good way!! :^)

  2. Wow, you got snow! Precious Winnie has another admirer here too. But none of my cats ever got pictures on the wall for their dining rooms! I do wonder what her little box situation might be!

  4. Good for your Hubby in helping out those in need. And he has a right to choose who he helps too! My guy would feel the same about being paid, gift cards, etc. Just let him have fun. :-)
Love your grand kitty's dinner station. Her people know who is really in charge of the house. It's the one with fur. Winnie is a cutie pie and I would love to give her a snuggle.
    Blessings and hugs,

  5. That is one Spoiled Grandcat. *LOL* I know just a little bit of overindulging Grandcats. *Winks* How Sweet of Mr. Merry to do that kind thing for Neighbors. My Welsh Uncle was like that with his Neighbors too, it makes for a good Community when we help one another out, it's why I love the Community we live in now, that's how they are too. That's a LOT of Snow. Good thing Mr. Merry has that Snowblower.

  7. My son, my ex husband, my husband, my ex father in law were all just like your husband. Snow event? They'd get out their snowblowers and take care of others. Hubby would jump in his skid steer and happily plow our driveway and the neighbor's driveway also.

    That's a LOTTA Snow!
Winnie is adorable! Spoiled cats, they deserve it!

  9. Winnie is cute, and a loved little kitty!
We're in the middle of another winter storm too. Hubby was out snowplowing this morning, but you can't even tell now.
So nice of your hubby to help out!

  12. You have fluffy pillows on your outdoor furniture! LOVE the art provided for the refined grandcat. Excellent list of "criteria" to be one of the snowblowers "customers." Linda in Kansas

  13. Mr. Merry is a good man! I got a kick out of the cat art. She looks like a little love. The snow went (mostly) south of us yesterday (though for awhile, it was horrible driving in it). You got much more than we did. Big temp drops are coming this week.

  14. Bless your husband. I would be inside under blankets since I am not a cold weather person. Winnie is one lucky kitty.

  15. I owe you a sincere apology that I have not been by in some time..No excuses other than I have been very busy...I did go through many of your past posts..So sorry that you were ill in December but glad that you are feeling better now...We too have had snow and some of it was not predicted....I did read your post about being elderly and it honestly made me laugh..I have considered myself elderly since I turned 60 and I am proud of it...I could not wait to turn 62 so I would be elderly enough to retire and start to collect social security...When Joe passed away, I did look into senior housing as I was 66 years old and would qualify..My mother moved into senior housing when my Dad passed away and she sold their house at 68 years old...I will be turning 68 soon and I am the president of a Senior Social club...I pride myself at being elderly because so many of my loved ones did not get the opportunity to grow old...so I look at being elderly as a gift that many do not receive...Thank you so much for all your visits and kind words as I truly do appreciate it..I hope to be by more often...I promise...
    Hugs,
