Where have I been? Spring Break.
The grandkids all had spring break a different week. My daughter and daughter in-law, who are both teachers, had spring break a different week than their children.
Here are some photographic memories.
Road Trip
Engineering at a children's museum.
A candy store/ice cream parlor with toys and an incredible selection of sugary drinks.
A candy and toy display. I have eight grandsons. This appeals to them.
An educational field trip (along with four other cousins) to the Birthplace of Thomas Edison for his school report.
On Good Friday we took six cousins out to breakfast at a local diner. They were having a good time I swear. They do not like it when Mimi takes a photo.
A visit to an Aviation Museum.
Spellbound at the large collection of Tuskegee Airmen memorabilia and the narrated video by Harold H. Brown.
Pearl Harbor diarama.
Lunch in a 1952 diner overlooking the tarmac of a small airport.
Watching planes land during lunch.
This was a milk shake. The table next to us ordered one first.
A cold day at the Flea Market.
A man on a mission.
Another diner, not as good.
Early voting. They got "future voter" stickers.
A visit to the police station to drop off items to Uncle Scott.
Hanging out with grampa while Mimi volunteers in the church office.
A trip to the egg barn.
Car picnic at the local drive-in on a rainy afternoon.
Three and a half hours at an indoor playland.
And yes, they wore the same clothes for days on end. It was spring break and I pick my battles. . .
Now we are tired. Very tired. Thank goodness everyone should be in school this Monday.

Wow, look at all these great photos! Your grandkids are a beautiful bunch Miss Merry, had a laugh at the toilet display, chuckled at the frowning cousins too 😄 And Mr Merry is looking good! 🙂👍
ReplyDeleteHoly wow! That was a lot of activity and diners. You get the lifetime grandma award!
ReplyDeleteWow - I'm tired just seeing all this. You are a very good Grandma!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful activities! Rest
ReplyDeleteI agree, you are the world's best ever grandma.
ReplyDeleteEight Grandsons, that's quite a Tall Order to have all at once I bet? And them liking that Toilet Candy Dish, well, they ARE Boys. *LOL* Looks like a Fun Spring Break even tho' it was a staggered one, the exhaustion afterwards must have been significant, I got tired just coming along vicariously. *Bwahahahaha* You're such a good Gramma!!!
ReplyDeleteHow? That's my question. How? How do you do it? So many wonderful grandkids and so much activity and you've been recuperating. You are the worlds best grandma. I wish mine all lived close enough to do fun things with. Miss Piper is so busy with middle school, tennis, track and taekwondo we have to schedule a visit!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Looks like such a wonderful spring break!
ReplyDeleteYour grandkids are a handsome bunch, Miss Merry.
I agree--you truly are the best grandma ever.
Love the photos.
This all looks like so much fun! I know it would be impossible to say whether you or the kids live it the most!
ReplyDeleteI got shut out of my food due to a phone glitch_google_yahoo issue. So I started another called Old Prairie Moonlight.

This looks like lots and lots of fun, but how on earth did you manage that with the rest of your life going on? My TWO wear me out! You are an awesome gran!
ReplyDeleteOH, YAYYYY! Such goings-on! Such fond memories of museums and markets and diners and parks!! Our crowd was seldom your size, but the feelings and clothes and expressions, oh, yes.
ReplyDeleteMy main enjoyment was YOUR enjoyment, and the strength and get-up-and-go you have after those slow times lately---no measuring out the SPOONS for you!!
THank you for the post on Gayla---I finally got that huge link to prosper, and am so glad she's up and about and communicating again. Every time I think of her, for the past probably ten years, I think of her fabulous talent with WORDS---you know that's my envy of all wordsmiths. She sent me a message about the wheat "bowing in silken obedience to the Wind." Can you not just WEEP for such talent?
Stay well and warm and putcha feet up some---it will ground you and help you too.
Oh my gosh.... Wow! You do have the most wonderful, adorable grandkids ever and I can see why they love their grandma and grandpa.
