Good morning. Today I am going to talk about the football game and the cheerleaders and the fact that I am a couch potato and my kids and grandkids are all athletes. But first I am going to talk about tariffs and that idiot in the White House.
Oh, is that another counter full of green peppers for the food bank? (They are all sweet peppers, just a fancy shape).
I will start at the end. My oldest daughter completed the marathon and came back to my house to take a shower before heading home. She was very impressed by my shower head and asked me to send her the link. Imagine my surprise when I sent her the link and it is currently priced at $649.
Okay. Rant over. (not really but I will move on).
We made it to the football game on Friday night with no problems. We were there to watch the cheerleaders and the mini cheerleaders and they were wonderful. Unfortunately a player was injured horribly, he was screaming while a limb was splinted. I have not hear how he is doing.
My oldest daughter competed in the actual half marathon which means she ran for 13.1 miles which is just not even part of my comprehension.
My youngest daughter was "cheering" with us, we do cheer for all the runners, and brought a special beverage for the second time she passed us.She places 5th in her age group which somehow is the age group I think that I should be in.
I can't skip the person who crosses the finish line first each year. My youngest son the cop serves as the "rabbit" leading the racers. He laughingly complains that he never gets a medal.
I took the cheering section plus those who spent the morning in Sunday School out for breakfast. I contacted my farm family to see what date in October I should expect my beef quarter. Somehow I got lost in the shuffle but she can provide a quarter in December. This is actually going to work out better for us since I have lots of odds and ends in the freezer and we won't have to eat tomato sauce and squash every day from all the tomatoes and squash I froze. I can space them out. I might even do one of those freezer challenges (where you cook from your freezer instead of shopping) that I have seen around. And speaking of tomatoes, how did I just learn about tomato flights? I will be planting beef steak tomatoes this spring!

I think your family is so appreciative of what you do with them. You support them in all of their endeavors!
ReplyDeleteYes, the tariffs have made things so much more expensive and yes, salaries, pensions, and incomes have not kept up. It is a disaster. Going to get groceries is a shock even for me. I can't afford beef, so I've adjusted to other forms of meat/protein.
Your witchy photos turned out great!
Wow, this was a packed Monday post! The price difference in those bathroom materials was both shocking and scary. This mess simply can't endure, rant away. The cheerleader pics were sweet but that poor player... 😔 loved the fun race pics, what a great pic of your grandson and your son! And the Witches photos look wonderful, you and your daughter are beautiful, Miss Merry! 😊💜🤎
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention your older daughter Miss M, she looked terrific! 👍👍
DeleteI'm sorry about the player who was injured and hope he heals quickly!
ReplyDeleteNo athletics in my blood either - and guess what? None in the grands either, so far! But good for yours!
What great racers you have in your family! Your cheerleaders are awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou are a wonder, really. I'm a little envious of you full and fulfilling life. I am beginning to feel the squeeze. Any increase we will get in social security will disappear with the cost of Medicare and the significant cost rise in and loss of benefits with the supplemental insurance. I sure am feeling great.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to cheer the runners. What you say about inflation is so true. The tariffs and wars have not benefitted the economy at all. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteDear Miss Merry, I love ❤️ your photos. I do think that your family appreciate you for who you are and all you do.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing, dear friend.
That was a whole lot of cheering on your part. Fun to do I"m sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm not into sports at all. I enjoyed your pictures.
ReplyDeleteMiss Merry, you are definitely no couch potato! And your family is so active... love all the pics! And we need a new shower head (perhaps not as expensive as that one) - but one that doesn't shoot me in the eye. And we've had this one a long time, probably needs to be replaced. But with prices rising for everything, we'll probably not replace it.
ReplyDeleteLove the Costumes, I wouldn't say all of that Activity was sedentary for you in the least Woman! Whew, it sounds like a Marathon of Fun tho'!!! And running that many miles, I can't comprehend either, even Biking that many miles!!! So, Bravo to your Kids for having that kind of endurance and level of fitness!!! Sorry to hear one of the Kids in the Game got badly injured and hope they will be alright... even when it's not one of ours, I get so concerned when a Child gets a Sports Injury coz it can cause problems for a Lifetime if it's serious enough.
ReplyDeleteOh... and... and... Tariffs jacking up prices SO much, I just wonder how many people aren't really paying as much attention to HOW MUCH MORE this is costing America? We definitely are NOT Winning. And the Grifts are obscene as they loot America for their own gain while the rest of us are being sent to the Poorhouse.
ReplyDeleteI have never been able to grow fine beef steak tomatoes. I would love to be able to figure out what I am doing wrong.
ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself that as more and more Americans feel the pinch, the MAGA faithful will begin falling back. We can only hope. If Giulfoyle wants to make herself rich to pay off that Amex card, she should write a tell all book about the grifters, from the inside
Some super family fun time. Those kids are darned cute and getting bigger and bigger every day. Amazing about the shower head. How long can this go on?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the adorable cheerleaders and to the fabulous athletes, well done! I think your son deserves a medal for sure. Your smiles are terrific, especially the witches. What a fun day.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, Virginia

ReplyDeleteWhat a busy weekend!
I love how you’re always out there cheering for your kids and grandkids--they must really appreciate it.
The marathon stories were great, and your son being the rabbit made me laugh.
The Witches Wander photos were such a fun way to end it all!
I love your photos! I can't conceive of running a half marathon either. At one point when I still ran, I thought about training for a race, but then...nah. I too am the cheerleader/support person. I approve of your rant and echo it. I shudder to think about how much any type of remodel would cost right now. :( Of course, some claim that the price increases and other problems are NEVER you-know-who's fault; those people are truly in a cult. Now I've ranted and will slink out of your comment section. ;)
