Not Covid

All the littles have been bringing home viruses from school. The elementary kids shared a disgusting stomach virus with me in September.  They have coughing and sneezing and dripping noses for October. Instead of driving nursery school car poll on Monday, I spent my day on the phone trying to wrangle an appointment for a three year old with a severe sinus infection. A smarter gramma might have started some over the counter stuff then.

I have been using some of my stash of covid tests (all negative), but when I tried to book an on-line appointment, I couldn't schedule until November 4. So today, a lovely Sunday with temperatures in the 70's, I sat in the waiting room at "convenient care" for two hours and eventually left with two prescriptions.

Did I mention I completely lost my voice? It has been three days of croaking barely above a whisper and I am now under orders for no whispering either. Since my Super Power is talking nonstop, this has been difficult!

Oh, and guess what else they are sharing at nursery school? Pink Eye. . . .

  1. Perhaps you have given me something to consider a positive about not having grandchildren! I'm sorry for all of this, it does seem overwhelming. The medication should help. I hope you can resume your super power soon.

  3. Yes, it seems it's that time of year for this stuff. Hope you feel better REAL soon. Kids have had the sniffles and sneezing. Little bit of stomach problems but nothing terribly bad. I expect the colds to go around and have been taking my zinc and C. I have had some sinus but take over counter meds for that. Sending you well wishes, Betsy

  4. You deserve a medal for the World's Best Grandma. Bless your sweet heart for taking care of your grandbabies so well. I sure hope you're feeling better very soon. The fall/early winter always seem to be the worst for kids and sicknesses at school. I'm sure glad it's not covid though!
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  8. You poor girl, I'm putting you in my prayers :) Years ago when I was a younger women I taught preschool for ten tens; I was always bringing home something, whether I caught it or not, I shared it with my family. At some point during that time I worked up a healthier immune system, that's what I'm wishing for you. God bless you.

  9. You poor thing! As my daughter the teacher says...they are germy little creatures! She just said they got all their shots (flu and covid booster) and they are all wearing masks so they can stay healthy and come down for Thanksgiving. I pray you feel better soon and I am so sorry you feel lousy. Hugs ~ Sam

  10. I went to the doc on Sunday with similar symptoms. Tested for strept and covid. Negative results. He did ask me if I wanted to test for a covid strain that would take a couple days to get back. I told him no. This was good enough. Much better now. My sinuses are usually bad at it this time of year, this year especially it seems.
