No School

We had two "no school" days in October.  My grandchildren moved to our town last year and are enrolled in our city schools. They had a day off for parent-teacher conferences.

With this in mind I purchased cookie mix from Trader Joe!

I think it is the first time my cookie chef used an electric mixer. She did a great job.

We tried to interest her younger brother in rolling the cookies in the cinnamin mixture, but he declined.

They were delicious!

The next week Mommy, who teaches at their old school, had parent meetings for 3 evenings in a row. She got to take Friday off from school!

We went on a day long shopping trip to a far away outlet mall (where I purchased nothing) and had lunch at a little Mexican restaurant.

This is hands down the best seafood burrito I ever had in my life and I would be willing to travel two hours again just to order it for lunch.  We split our lunches so my burrito half with seafood jumping out is on the left, her quesadilla is on the right.

They also had margarita flights. I want you to know that the glasses were smaller than they appear and we were able to shop til we dropped after consuming them.

And tomorrow? My daughter-in-law will be teaching at her school and her children, who attend a different school are off. I believe only the youngest will be hanging out here.

  3. First of all, your granddaughter is a clone of her mother! Both of them, very pretty. The cookies looked delicious, you are killing me with these foodie blogs Miss Merry but keep 'em coming. Someone needs to award this blog for those alone. :^)

  5. Snickerdoodles are great cookies. Haven't had any in quite a while. Granddaughter looks like she enjoys the baking. And I imagine margarita flights (?) would make shopping even more fun.
