Just checking in to say we are still here. We think our grandkids shared two viruses, a tummy virus and a high fever virus and we suffered through both at the same time. Although they were down only 1-2 days, it really took a week for us to get back to what we call normal. And we are still tired.
We had a quiet Memorial Day weekend with me in bed for two days before grampa went down. No picnics for us. We were still putting one on the school bus this week, but everyone made other arrangements instead of dinners at the home place.
No trips to the amusement park. No food pics or recipes.
I have been complaining and complaining about the heartbreaking state of affairs in this country. I saw this wonderful pin by Mary Engelbreit and took it to heart.
Meanwhile, back in the saddle tomorrow as my middle son, my youngest daughter and I are taking seven children between the ages of 5 and 12 to the amusement park! Fun times!
I am glad to hear that you are on the mend, dear friend. Mary Englebreit's quote is so true. We can complain, but it changes nothing. But if we do something we change our outlook and contribute to something that can make changes and lead to a positive outcome.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting your news, Miss Merry, I have been thinking of you and praying foe you.
I am pleased to hear you have fully recovered from the virus. Always takes a while to get over these things. Good luck with your application to the city government.
ReplyDeleteThe sweet moment at the Kindergarten Graduation and the hopeful step of applying for a local government position show strength and community spirit. Despite setbacks, the writer embraces the new month with humor and hope and is gearing up for a fun, chaotic day at the amusement park with the grandkids.
ReplyDeleteA touching, genuine glimpse into everyday life.
That's a marvelous move, and thank you for DOING SOMETHING!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, children and viruses. The gift that keeps on giving. Glad to hear you are doing much better. I'm excited to hear about your election campaign. I've been calling (must call again today on rescinding PBS funding -- that will come up for a vote in the house this week, or maybe it's the Senate. I'll call them all.) And becoming more politically active. I hope they will pick you! Thinking lovely thoughts and keep us posted! (And thanks for your visits, too!)
ReplyDeleteI am glad you’re feeling better. Congratulations on applying for office. Every bit helps so I’m all for it.
ReplyDeleteMiss Merry, very glad to hear you guys are all on the mend--but it didn't seem to slow you down a lot! Love the bicycle photo with the flowers, and I think your city govt seat sounds great. Nice seeing Mister Merry up there too. :^)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you've had such sickness in your family and glad that seems to be behind you.
ReplyDeleteI love the bike and scarecrow!
Glad you survived the viruses, no fun. Good luck with your new venture into City Government! Congrats to your Kindergarten Grad!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you are all on the mend. Spring/summer bugs are the worst. I had to laugh out loud at the comment on your picture. I detest photos of me. I am now inhabiting my grandmothers body and I'm not sure when that happened.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
I'm so sorry you were all sick. Children and viruses. I hope you get the seat.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, that did not sound like fun. Hopefully the ick is done for a while and you can enjoy the summer time fun.
